Above is our 2014 Scholarship Award winner Sarah Gray, (her art work is featured below.)

The Art Guild's May luncheon was a gala! All seats were filled by the time we sat down to enjoy honey baked ham and the usual gastronomic delights provided by members. Hat's off to board members and luncheon coordinator, Jerry Palmer for a job much more than "well done". The tables looked elegant, and we all wanted to sing along with J.C. Unger.

President Colleen Ward welcomed new President Charles Zetterberg. Charles's name is familiar to all TIAG members not only because of his remarkable and oft-rewarded art work, but also his service at Thursday workshops and to the TI-AG Board as Vice-President. That said, we are all saddened to bid a fond and very grateful farewell to Colleen who has so ably served as our multi-talented leader: tightened and productively "engineered" board meetings, provided our fabulous colorful newsletter and the delectable honey baked hams!, are only a few of her many notable accomplishments; Colleen, thank you so much. We think she was happily surprised to receive a lifetime TI-AG membership. Hopefully, we'll still be seeing her wonderful pastels and acrylics in coming shows.

Congratulations to our 2014 Scholarship Award winner Sarah Gray.

Sarah is the proud daughter of John and Susanne Gray who accompanied her to the luncheon along with Sarah’s excellent art work. Members were touched by how grateful and honored Sarah was to have received her prizes of $1,500 from the incoming President Charles Zetterberg. Sarah had been attending Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School. She is now planning on attending St. Petersburg College and focusing on Illustration or Digital Art to become a Concept Artist. Her long term goal is to get an internship to Bethesda Studios and train to be a Concept Artist for future video games. Sarah knows the Treasure Island Art Guild would like to encourage her in whatever way they can to fulfill these artistic endeavors. Sarah is always welcome to any of our meetings and workshops. We want to wish her well. Congratulations Sarah!
